P.J. Santavenere, better known as "Don Zio P", has been putting Ct on the map for some time now. As a basketball player coming out of Middletown Connecticut, going on to play D1 at Saint Francis, and now leading the surge for the "Ct Music scene".
To say the least, Don has put himself in position to become a Connecticut legend. Some may say that is an overstatement, but if you read down the list of accolades you might want to reconsider. Starting to rap only a couple years ago after a trip to Canada.
-"After a trip to Canada, when I got back, my boy was like dudes think you look like a rapper.. " - Don Zio P
Soon after Don writes the song " Dunk on Yo B*itch" which became a CT summer banger. Being Jamaican and Italian Don's Melodic, carefree, sometimes reggae influenced music has been touching "Young Tatted Homies" across America ever since. Shortly, labels began reaching out where Don was able to sign his first major deal to Republic Records, home to an all-star roster of multi-platinum, award-winning legends and superstar artists such as Drake, The Weekend, and Arianna Grande.
Last year was a good year for the Tito's drinking "Lover Boy". Sharing the stage with Pusha T, where he was able to get a record on Push's "1800" sponsored project. The song being called "Hotel" which gives a tasteful interest on what a night with Don could be like. Also traveling overseas modeling , spreading peace, love, and happiness . The Middletown native really is opening doors, giving a path, not to be followed but respected by others trying to do music out of Connecticut.
-" Just even to rap from Connecticut is crazy. When you're from major cities, like New York City, Miami.. they have motivational people who made it before them"-
We feel as if Don Zio P is just getting started, with his much anticipated project "Lover Boy" on the way. The real thing to ask yourself is do you want to jump on the wave now "Cowabunga" style, or shall you wait when he's a household name. Either way you put it " MAN'S a LEGEND!" and his story has just begun.
